Friday Night Auction Highlight!

Among the pulps in the Glenn Lord estate auction being held on Friday night, April 6, 2018, at the upcoming Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention (April 6-8, 2018, at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center), are nearly 100 issues of Weird Tales. Most issues feature the works of Robert E. Howard (for whom Lord was the literary executor for nearly three decades), including the December 1932 issue, featuring the first Conan story.

Also among these issues are two copies of the November 1935 issue, featuring the Conan story, “Shadows in Zamboula,” both of which are shown here. The image on the left is the U.S. edition, while the image on the right — which is heavily censored by a text block! — is the Canadian edition.
