KELLEY – rare Canadian book published in October 1941 by Adam Publishing Co. as Handy Library Book No. 1.  First book publication.  Although Kelley’s output was primarily published in Canada, he did have several stories published in U.S. pulps, including Weird Tales.

176. ROY KRENKEL – THREE ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS – Krenkel was one of Bob’s favorite artists.  Here are three small illustrations by the master illustrator.  All have heavy glue residue on the reverse, which has leaked through and stained the paper.

OTIS ADELBERT KLINE LETTER DATE JUNE 1934 – typed letter on Kline’s letterhead to Don Moore, editor of Argosy, and signed by Kline.  The letter concerns Kline’s story, “Jan of the Jungle,” which had been serialized in Argosy in 1931 and which was to be made into a movie.  Kline was writing Moore to make sure rights were all clear.  The movie was released as a 12 part Universal serial in 1935 as “The Call of the Savage” (the serial was edited in 1956 as a 70 minute film, “Savage Fury”).

200. WEIRD TALES – 9/35 Canadian – this is from the first of two runs of the Canadian edition of Weird Tales, when they ran the U.S. covers but often heavily edited, as here, to make them less risqué.  Authors include CAS, Bloch (Cthulhu), Hamilton, Quick & Ernst (Doctor Satan).

UNCANNY TALES – complete 21 issue run of this rare Canadian weird fiction pulp, which ran from November 1940 to September-October 1943.  The first 20 issues are contained in 5 attractive bound volumes, while the final issue is unbound.  Copies are bound with front and back covers included.  Authors include REH (the poem, “Always Comes Evening”), CAS (“The Coming of the White Worm”), Wollheim, Coblentz and Thomas Kelley.  Some stories were reprinted from U.S. pulps, and include art by Bok.
