104. CLARK ASHTON SMITH DRAWING – in addition to being an author, CAS was also an artist. This is of a demonic head; there’s a small piece of the paper missing lower right. Based on the letter at #104, it’s possible this came from through Robert Barlow’s collection.

HOWARD, DATED APRIL 26, 1928 – a rejection letter from this publisher to REH with respect to a manuscript of poetry REH had submitted, entitled “Singers in the Shadow.” This collection was later published by Donald M. Grant in 1970.
106. Clark Ashton Smith, DARK CHATEAU – published by Arkham House in 1951 in an edition of 563 copies. Inscribed to Glenn and signed by Smith (misdated 1939, for presumably 1959). Insect damage to dust jacket; slight insect damage to boards.
107. Clark Ashton Smith, POEMS IN PROSE – published by Arkham House in 1964 in an edition of 1,016 copies. Minor insect damage to dust jacket. Signed by illustrator Frank Utpatel.
108. Robert E. Howard, CONAN THE CONQUEROR – this is the first U.K. edition, published by T.V. Boardman & Company, Ltd. in 1954. It is much rarer than the earlier U.S. edition from Gnome Press. Reprints the full length novel, “The Hour of the Dragon.” Missing the dust jacket.
109. Robert E. Howard, LORD OF SAMARCAND AND OTHER ADVENTURE TALES OF THE OLD ORIENT – published by Bison Books in 2005. Although the main edition was in trade paperback format, this is one of the rarer hardcover edition, which was in an edition of around 470-530 copies.
